Our Story
Founded in April 2025 by Brandon Hughes and Janessa Spencer, the Black Pre-Law Student Association (BPLSA) was created in response to a clear gap in tailored experiences for pre-law students. Our organization exists to uplift and support Black students through mentorship, networking, and engaging events designed to prepare them for law school and beyond. At our core, BPLSA is a safe, welcoming community where all pre-law students are encouraged to grow, connect, and succeed.
Our mission is to empower underrepresented pre-law students by providing mentorship, resources, and access to the legal profession. We foster academic, professional, and personal growth through networking and advocacy while maintaining a safe and inclusive space for all pre-law students.
